Carol Rutz’s Annexe

A small note to one whom I’ve met at the Grand Wayne Center. I am the short Hispanic woman who has the spiffy Microsoft swag, especially with the flashing LED thingy. Check out the various Disability Rights links and you will have a way how to communicate better and have a rich relationship with those who you love.
I present to you for your consideration, one Amanda Baggs of Ballastexistenz. Considered “low functioning”, she is capable of speaking via this communication device. In this video, she hums, bang objects like that musical instrument one scrapes with a wooden bar, feels objects with her face, and flaps her hands. To neurotypicals, it is an abnormal pattern that must be managed. But what is actually going on may surprise many.
