First of all, I want to send congrats to Ballastexistenz on her nationwide coverage on CNN and her presentation on being autistic. You make us proud! Now, you go rest and spend time with your cat!
Whilst resting, she has posted a link to an unfortunate incident at one hipster Mexican restaurant in San Diego. While going to eat with those with neurological difficulties can be difficult for family, the waitstaff, and oneself, it is inappropriate for the waitress to grab you by the shoulders, shake you, and mock you. It’s called assault. I do not care if the kid is acting odd, “like a brat” or whatever, you do not have the right to touch him like that. And if the San Diego Police Department refuses to help and arrest the offending waitress, it’s time to make a big stink.
Pokez Mexican Restaurant at 947 E Street in San Diego must be avoided at all costs.
I’m calling upon the kind sweet spirits in San Diego to raise hell. And already, they are already doing so on Yelp.com, and several blogs (Ducksnorts, San Diego Blog, and Starline X Hodges’ CandiComics). I heard that Rancho’s at 3910 30th Street has a more friendly clientele and more consistently decent food.
And if any prospective employers have a chance to review any job applications from that waitress, I appreciate you guys greatly if you place her applications into your circular file. Thanks in advance.
BTW: Consider what message you are teaching people, especially to the family:
James (his teenaged brother) was sullen and blamed David…. we were silent, mostly not believing that this was happening. Eventually went to another place for dinner.
Thanks a lot, geniuses. You have taught James that his brother is an embarrassment and must be avoided. You’re number one in my book.
