The past few weeks was busy, with Security class and other matters.

A few weeks after Ohio LinuxFest, I attended the Ontario [GNU] Linux Fest in Toronto with several fellow OLF members. It was the first time I ever visited Canada. When not attending the lectures, I visited the Pacific Mall and Market Village at neighboring Markham. Went to buy some kawaii stuff but a bit disappointed at the lack of decent stickers (Sanrio, San-X, Q-Lia) available. I will have to pick them up at the Kinokuniya bookstore in Beaverton, Oregon.* At One’s Better Living, I found some Code Geass Knightmare Frame models. Wanted the Lancelot, but the really nice one was around 100 bux. I should have gotten the Gloucester, as it looked the best. Maybe for Christmas. (Who needs jewelry when you can have Code Geass?) Ate regularly at Pho 777 across the street at the convention.

This week, I’m doing lab sims and starting on my 10 page paper on cryptography. And as the semester draws to an end, I will have to take my cert exam. If I pass the cert, I may gift myself with the Gloucester.

*There are various reasons why one should travel to Portland Oregon… Pine State Biscuits, Powell’s…and OSCON. OSCON is back to its proper location and this time, I’m bringing the Prediger.

Whoever cleans clothes with gas today is asking for a Darwin Award.

Some LOL moments: the chipmunk-like alien voice, Guardiana’s silver glasses, and ignorance of food safety (quite subtle). I first saw this on channel 62 in LA years ago when it was an Asian-programming station and it used these English language educational films to fulfill its educational program requirements.

I have not been at the blog, as I had the usual load of stuff. Thank goodness I can take a break.

At the old loud purple incarnation of CarolRutz.com, I used to have a section known as “Parental Misguidance Theatre”, in which I play old clips of educational films. I grew up watching them at school, on KLCS-58, and KRCA-62 when it had their Asian programming format. They were required to air an hour of educational programming each day, so they aired educational films.

I wonder whether kids today get to watch them in class with the film projector running or whether they get to see the AIT-style programming via videotapes. Thank goodness the Internet Archive is keeping stock of these films so we can amuse ourselves and the next generation. And I’m restarting my educational film feature on this blog.

To kick off this feature, here is this really funny film of the 70s about doing dangerous dares. I saw this one for the first time on KLCS in the 90s. The sibs and I were in stitches over the kids’ antics. And it does not have an ending except the ending that you provide yourself. Did she or did she not? Hope you enjoy this.
